  2. Submitted sample (1 kg/100 M.Ton)
  3. Fumigation Certificate
  4. Approved letter for company representative (if company assigns representative for application)
  5. Approved letter for pre-shipment application
  6. Certificate for legality of forest products/Specification (Measurement/packing list)
  7. Laboratory test for pest and disease in accordance with importing country’s requirements (if needed)

Procedures for issuance of Phytosanitary Certificate

  1. Application with fumigated representative sample
  2. Visual inspection/field inspection (if needed)
  3. Live pest not found in representative sample and meet with importing country’s requirements
  4. Issuance of Phytosanitary Certificate
  5. Live pest found in representative sample – Reject for issuance of Phytosanitary Certificate

Fees for Phytosanitary Certificate

Export commodity-

  1. 1-100 M.Ton – 3000 kyat
  2. 100-1000 M.Ton – 5000 kyat
  3. >1000 M.Ton – 10000 kyat

  • Working hour – 24 h.

Required documents to apply the Import Certificates for plants and plant products that allowed import into Myanmar

  1. Application
  2. For planting;
      • Sugarcane – Certified letter of Sugar Crops Division
      • Perennial Crops – Certified letter of Perennial Crops Division
      • Other agricultural crops – Seed Division
      • Forest plants – Certified letter of Forestry Department
  3. Approved letter for company (if company assigns representative for application)
  4. Copy of Certificate of Incorporation

  1. Apply Import Certificate with necessary documents
  2. Issuance of Import Certificate if all necessary documents are completed

  • Import Certificate – 2000 kyat

  • Working hour – 24 h.

Procedures for inspection of commodity at arrival (MACCS)

  1. Inform to Plant Protection Division, Department of Agriculture with OGA test application at commodity’s arrival to get inspection
  2. Present original Phytosanitary Certificate of Country of Origin
  3. Inspect Phytosanitary Certificate of Country of Origin with Import Certificate, visual inspection of 0.005-0.01% of imported commodity, laboratory test (if needed)
  4. If Phytosanitary Certificate is in accordance with Import Certificate, inspectors agreed in MACCS.

Procedures for inspection of commodity at arrival (Entry Point)

  1. Inform to Department of Agriculture, Plant Protection Division, Entry Points at commodity’s arrival to get inspection
  2. Present original Phytosanitary Certificate of Country of Origin
  3. Inspect Phytosanitary Certificate of Country of Origin with Import Certificate, visual inspection of 0.005-0.01% of imported commodity, laboratory test (if needed)
  4. If Phytosanitary Certificate is in accordance with Import Certificate, inspectors released the commodity.

Plant Pest Quarantine Law

  • It was enacted in 16th June 1993. Currently, New Plant Pest Quarantine Law (Draft) is under discussion.
